2019; Chasing Adventures

As I reflect on the year 2019, I've summed it as a year of chasing adventures. A lot of firsts in 2019 and also a lot to be thankful for. First year being back in KL for good after being away, tbh it took some time for me to get used to; being with family again, rebuilding friendships and creating news ones.

As usual, starting the year with birthday celebrations :)  My birthday fell on a weekday, so Howie picked me up from work and we went to Pullman for a buffet dinner.

After that, went home and parents surprised me with a cake.

The next day, another surprise from Howie. We celebrated both mine and Mabel's birthday as her birthday is on the 4th.

Celebrated with colleagues too with median food yummmm!

2019 CNY Dinner with the Ohana. It was very special because it's been a while since we gathered together for a meal. These people are definitely gonna be in my life for a longggg time :)

CNY at Popo's place

One of the rare occasion to have a full family portrait :)

Successfully surprised Jenn with a trip to KL! Got Nick to have Jenn come over to the airport to pick me up thinking it was Nick's cousin. Super nerve-wrecking but we pulled it off!

Walking around Orchard and having sandwich ice cream

Also got to spend a lot of time with Sara :) Stayed with her during this Singapore trip.

Weekend getaway with the colleagues to Fraser Hills. It was fun :)

Spent a lot of time with the Ohana as we started having board game nights every week.

Went for a few local hikes in 2019 too, this was Ulu Semangkuk with Jia Yee and Norman.

Went to Singapore again in June. This time, got to hangout with Ros too! First time mini golfing, it was fun but not easy!

Managed to attend Agnes and Gordon's baby shower too!

So good to see all these faces again!!

Catchup with Agnes over cakes :)

I got my diving license as well! Did it with Yen-Ee and my colleagues!

Diving was a one-of-a-kind experience. I can't say I'm loving it so far. Tbh, still quite traumatised over diving but I'm sure I'll be better once I've been to more dives. I can still remember the water pressure in my ear and how I thought I was going deaf. It was a painful experience. It's funny how when you're underwater you won't feel the motion sickness, but once you ascend back to the surface, that's when you feel the dizziness. Definitely want to go for more dives to get better at it and experience the underwater world

Went back to Kapas again in 2019. It has changed soooo much. It became so commercialised, it wasn't the peaceful and unknown Kapas as I remembered. But it was still a good retreat, and hiking up this hill and admiring this crazy breathtaking view!

Celebrated Norman with hotpot and karaoke :)

One of the rare days we dressed up and actually took a photo together

First trip overseas with Jenn!! We were supposed to go to HK but unfortunately, they were still having the riot so we decided to fly to Phuket.

Thai fooooooood! Enjoyed it so much and the oh-so-refreshing coconuts!

One of my favourite memory from Phuket- we got to spend the day with these beauties. Bathed them, fed them and played with them in the water too.

After Phuket, we had a company trip to Krabi! More Thai food woohoo!

Swimming and diving off from boat with them :)

Christmas with the Ohana girls <3

Thankful that in 2019 that we managed to have a family trip to Macao, with my Popo and all my aunties and cousins.

On the flight with Popo and mum

Baby Hannah! I think she was about 3 months here? Went to Singapore with Howie's family for his cousin's wedding. Was supposed to be a 4 days trip but it got extended as Uncle Lawrence's car broke down so we had to take a flight back. Honestly, it was a blessing in disguise cause got to spend more time with my friends in Singapore as well

Ended 2019 with a pic of me and Sara :) This was when we found out that the car broke down haha. Celebrated New Year's Eve with friends celebrating Vic Kie's birthday as well! 2019 was a good year :')
